HELLO! I'M TERESA JOHNSON, FOUNDER OF BASSINETS FOR BABIES!

One of the things I couldn't afford was a safe and secure bassinet for my newborn. I remember worrying every night about whether my baby was sleeping soundly or if something was wrong. I knew that I couldn't be the only mother in my community facing this challenge. 

Years later, I found myself in a position to make a difference. I had started a successful janitorial-cleaning business and was able to provide for my family comfortably. But I knew that there were still mothers in underserved communities who were struggling to provide for their children. 

That's when I decided to start a nonprofit organization to fund bassinets for mothers leaving the hospital and going home with their newborn babies. I knew that this was a simple but crucial item that could make a huge difference in the lives of these families.

I poured my heart and soul into this organization, working tirelessly to raise funds and awareness. I spoke to mothers in my community, sharing my own story and encouraging them to reach out for help if they need it. My goal over time, is to see our organization grow and be able to provide not just bassinets, but also other essential items like diapers, clothing, and formula. I desire to work with hospitals and community organizations to identify families in need and provide them with the support they need to give their babies the best start in life. 

For me, this work is deeply personal. I know firsthand the challenges that mothers in underserved communities face, and I'm passionate about doing everything I can to help them. My hope is that every time I see a mother with a new bassinet for her baby, I know that I've helped in making a difference and change.
